Is there anything you’ve noticed yourself being more curious about lately? What have you learned?
What did you love doing most when you were about eight years old? What were the things you did back then that made you completely lose track of time?
What kinds of things make you think, “I wish I’d thought of that”? What about them do you like?
What are some of your favorite creative works (books, films, songs, art, games, etc.)? Do they have anything in common?
Practice
Mash-Up: choose two things you love that have nothing to do with each other. Combine them into something.
Problem Solver: set a timer for 10 minutes and write down as many problems/inconveniences you can think of that you regularly experience. After the 10 minutes, see if you can come up with creative solutions/products for those problems.
Categories: make a list of the 5-7 categories that appear most frequently in your life. They can be anything: subjects you know about, things you love, things you've experienced, things you care about, or things you can't stop thinking about.
Under each one, write down 3–5 specific things that come to mind. Look across your categories. Where do they overlap? What unexpected connections can you find?
