Below are some prompts and exercises to help you explore general creative inspiration.

Review

Think about the times you've felt most creatively alive. What were you doing? What did those moments have in common?

What role does creativity play in your life? Is it an outlet, a way of understanding things, a way of connecting, a form of play, a challenge, or something else?

If you had an unlimited budget and no one would ever see the result, what would you make?

Which beliefs, topics and ideas are you trying to express, explore, understand, or communicate through your creativity?

If you look at your creativity as a hunger, what are your favorite things to feed it?

Practice

House Rules: write a creative manifesto for your workspace.

What are the must-dos and the must-don’ts?

Self-Portrait: grab a mirror and set a timer for five minutes.

Draw a portrait of yourself in any style you choose. But you have to stop when the timer goes off.

Useless Invention: invent an object nobody actually needs and draw what it would look like. Name it and give it a short slogan for a commercial.

Alter Ego: design a completely fictional version of yourself. Give them a name, a job, a personality, a style, and one strange talent. Then make something they would make.
