Below are some prompts and exercises to help you unlock more energy.
Review
What kind of energy are you missing? Physical, mental, emotional, creative, social, or some combination?
What consistently drains you? Think about people, places, activities, responsibilities, habits, environments, and even thoughts.
What gives you energy back? What leaves you feeling more alive, curious, motivated, calm, or capable?
When do you naturally have the most energy? What time of day, environment, or circumstances seem to bring out your best?
What are you currently asking yourself to do when you don't have the energy for it? Is there a way to make the task smaller, change the conditions, or approach it differently?
Practice
Recharge Menu : make a menu of things that reliably make you feel better, with options for different levels of energy: 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours, a whole day.
When you're depleted, don't make yourself figure out what you need - choose something from the menu.
Battery Check: draw two batteries. Grab one green pen/marker and one red.
In the first, write in green everything that charges you: people, places, activities, habits, environments, ideas, whatever leaves you feeling more alive.
In the second, write in red everything that drains you. Then look at both batteries. What could you do to spend more time around your chargers and less time around your drains?
Energy Date: take yourself on a date designed entirely around what sounds good right now. Follow your curiosity rather than your to-do list. Go somewhere, eat something, see something, make something. Let yourself be led by what gives you energy and inspires you.
